Fractional calculus is a branch of mathematics that studies the use fractional operators. The evolution computing allowed its application in many areas, including control theory. operators are known to well describe memory phenomena, favorable characteristic for control. Another benefit order these adds more tunable parameters controller, allowing greater flexibility and possibility improving performance. This chapter aims verify performance an inverted cart-pendulum using fractional-order LQR-based along with cross-entropy optimization method. Comparisons genetic algorithm also delineated evaluate proposed approach. strategy employ methods obtain optimal controller result best performance, taking into account indexes related error, settling time, effort. A comparison made integer-order improvement
